Pub Golf Open 2007

Tomorrow sees the first St Austell Pub Golf Tournament of the season, some players are complete novices to the game, but tournamnet organiser Lea Cooper (me) would like to wish all the boys the best of luck and may the best team win, it is a great day and its not about winning its about drinking!!!!! . Ladbokes have stopped taking bets on Lee Allen and whoever his partner is, Earlier on in the week Lee clearly marked his intentions by claiming he will hole in one every hole!! Phil the ferret Hutchings is favouite to not finishing the course, my favourite is the old man of the team Mr Hammond, he has had many years of hard core drinking behind him, this should help him to become the pub golf champion of 2007, lets hope he does not get paired with Lee I drink Pints in my sleep Allen.All the best Super Cooper. Have had a few months of the old sherbert but will be looking to put in some great holes.Looking forward to the challenge of the St Austell pub course. Bring it on. Do you find this valuable? |

Favourite to go out first there has been a late flurry of bets in billy hill this morning that Hutchings will finish the course in a strong position

What can I say what a performance from the boys, a very tight contest with the favourite Lee Allen (Ernie the Elf) and his partner Jeremy Pascoe (Vijay Singer) taking the title by one shot from Lea Cooper (Ian Poultry) and Jon Bishop ( Greg Normandy), It has to be said that Phil lightwieght Hutchings (Laura Davies) put in a fine performance completeing the course with relative ease. There was one participant who struggled and that was Steve Kellow (Tiger Forest) what a disgrace he even took a 12 on one hole!!!! It has to be said that it was a great day and looking forward to the next golf challenge, just thought that I should mention Gary Dumphy (Retief Turkey) this man can drink!!! he carded 9 hole in ones to set a course record it was a shame he was partnered with Kellow!!!
